The site starts in dark mode unexpectedly
If no explicit preference has been saved, Avellin follows the visitor’s system prefers-color-scheme setting. Use the navigation toggle once to save an explicit choice.
The selected mode does not persist
Avellin normally remembers the visitor’s light or dark mode choice. Very strict browser privacy settings can sometimes prevent that preference from being saved.
The page briefly flashes the wrong mode
If the page briefly shows the wrong mode after you have customized the theme, first restore the original dark-mode code if it was changed. Then clear your site/browser cache and test again.
One component stays light in dark mode
Check whether the component is custom post/page HTML with its own inline background color. Avellin has dark styles for its built-in navigation, footer, forms, comments, recipe card, Recipe Index and listing views, but inline colors inside your own content can override the theme.
