Troubleshooting the Élan Homepage Slider

Fix the most common Élan slider problems: no posts, wrong label, missing images, unexpected dates or too many/few slides.

The slider is empty

First check that the posts you expect to show contain images. Élan’s slider is image-led and its own empty-state message specifically indicates that featured posts appear when posts have images.

Label mode shows no posts

Open Featured Posts Slider Settings and verify both lines:

source: label
label: Your Exact Blogger Label

The label must match Blogger’s label name exactly.

The slider shows recent posts instead of the selected label

Make sure source is actually set to label. A label value is ignored while the source remains recent.

The date is still visible

Use:

show-date: no

The final template also treats false, 0 and off as disabled values.

The post count looks wrong

Check the posts: line. Élan accepts values from 1 to 20 and defaults to 6 when the value is not usable.

Posts exist but the slider is still empty

Check that the matching posts are published and contain images. If Élan cannot find suitable posts to display, the slider remains empty.

The layout looks too large or cramped

For visual changes, use Theme → Customize → Advanced → Homepage Slider to adjust card width, image size, spacing and text padding. There is no need to edit the theme code.
