Setting Up Roame Navigation and Dropdown Menus

Build Roame’s multi-level navigation from Blogger’s Pages gadget using simple hyphen prefixes for child and grandchild links.

Roame turns a flat Blogger Pages list into a multi-level menu. You create the hierarchy by adding hyphens to the page/link name inside the Main Navigation gadget.

Hierarchy format

  • Parent = no hyphen
  • – Child = one hyphen
  • — Grandchild = two hyphens

The hyphens are removed automatically from the public navigation.

Destination links

Country links normally point to their Blogger label archive, for example /search/label/Portugal?max-results=6. This same hierarchy can also power the Destinations Index page.

Mobile dropdowns

Roame adds dedicated expand controls to parent items on smaller screens. After editing the menu, test every nested level in the mobile navigation.
